- ELIAS ALEXANDRO -
Elias Alexandro hails from the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in 2019 with a bachelor’s degree in Radio-Television-Film, Elias moved to Los Angeles where he obtained industry experience interning for both Jimmy Miller at Mosaic Media Group and Bob Shaye at Unique Features. His debut short film at UT, entitled ‘LULLABY’, premiered at the 2018 SXSW Longhorn Denius Student Showcase. The film toured the country at festivals like NFFTY (Washington’s National Film Festival for Talented Youth) and VAEFF (NYC’s Video-Art Experimental Film Festival), snagging ‘Best Film’ & ‘Best Director’ plaques along the way. His upcoming shorts ‘WIDOW’ and ‘THE ALL-NIGHTER’ are being polished, and will begin their festival journeys soon. Elias is also readying a feature-length documentary titled ‘DIANA’, which explores the healing powers of artistic expression and the American Dream... told through the wise point-of-view of an eye-patched singer/songwriter from Colombia who’s been recently widowed.
His life’s work revolves around telling bold stories that take unconventional and surprising directions. His films consistently showcase the disenfranchised and the misunderstood, while eroding stigma around mental health and societal taboos. Alexandro’s directorial style is slick with a daring attitude, dripping with genre… and is reminiscent of Tarantino’s vivid characterization and Lynch’s warped worldview—with a John Waters sensibility. Elias enjoys wrapping poignant social statements in colorful candy packaging, and is committed to crafting worlds where characters can live their shameless truths—no matter life’s consequences.
